About Transitions Coaching Academy

An Institution Built to Last.

Transitions Life Coaching LLC founded by Marlo — professionals grounded in the competences of the ICF, sharpened by practice, and trusted by the people they serve.

Our Story

Where It Began

In 2004, Marlo looked at the coaching profession and saw a gap between what clients needed and what the industry was offering. Life coaching was growing rapidly — but without the rigor, ethics, or accountability that people in vulnerable transitions deserved.

Anyone could call themselves a coach. Anyone could charge for sessions. And clients — often navigating the most difficult moments of their lives — had no reliable way to know who they could trust.

Transitions Coaching Academy was Marlo's answer. Not a course. Not a certificate mill. An Institution — built from the ground up to produce coaches worth trusting, and to hold them to a standard worth holding.

"We did not set out to build a business. We set out to build an Institution."

The Founders

The People Behind the Standard

Marlo

Founder and CEO of Transitions Life Coaching LLC, Transitions Coaching Academy, and The Bridge Standard™ certification program

Marlo has spent over two decades at the intersection of human development, professional ethics, and the art of coaching. Before founding Transitions Coaching Academy, she worked as a nutritionist, organizational and corporate consultant, and leadership trainer — accumulating the kind of experience that cannot be taught in a weekend seminar.

Her conviction is simple: the people who seek coaching deserve coaches who have been genuinely prepared for the work. That conviction became The Bridge Standard™ — a certification framework that has now shaped the careers of trusted professional coaches.

Marlo continues to teach in the Bridge Standard Program, mentors coaches, and leads the Academy's curriculum development. She believes that the best coaches never stop learning.

The Founding Team

Transitions Coaching Academy was built by a small team of practitioners who shared Marlo's conviction that the coaching profession needed a higher standard. Today, that founding team continues to help shape the curriculum, mentor trainees, and uphold the ethics pledge that every certified coach signs.

Our Mission

Why We Exist

"To build professional coaches of enduring quality — grounded in ethics, skilled in practice, and trusted by the people they serve."

Every decision we make — every standard we set, every coach we certify, every curriculum module we develop — flows from this mission. We exist to close the gap between what clients need and what the coaching profession has historically provided.

Our mission in practice

Ethical Foundation

Every certified coach has signed our ethics pledge. This is not a formality — it is a binding commitment to serve clients with integrity, maintain appropriate boundaries, and practice within their scope of competency.

Demonstrated Skill

Certification requires documented supervised coaching hours, peer review, and a final competency assessment. Skill is observed and verified — not self-reported.

Enduring Practice

We build coaches for the long term. Our curriculum, our standards, and our institution are designed to outlast any particular trend in the coaching industry.

Service to the Client

Everything we do is ultimately in service of the people who trust our coaches with their most important transitions. The client is always the priority.

Our Vision

A world in which every person navigating a major life transition has access to a coach who is genuinely prepared, ethically grounded, and worthy of their trust.
